Video Production
From Singapore with Words
Produce a series of documentary-style films for the Singapore Pavilion at the 2024 Frankfurt Book Fair, offering international audiences an intimate introduction to Singapore's featured authors. The films needed to go beyond traditional interviews, capturing the personalities, routines and environments that shape each author's creative practice while remaining consistent with the pavilion's visual identity.

The Thinking
Rather than presenting the authors through scripted narratives, the films embraced quiet observation. By following each individual through their daily routines, the series sought to reveal the subtle moments that define a creative life. This editorial approach allowed authenticity to take centre stage, creating a more personal and relatable portrait of Singapore's literary voices for an international audience.

The Execution and Outcome

Each film was shot on location, documenting the authors within spaces that reflected their creative process and everyday lives. Beyond filming and editing, I collaborated closely with senior designers to translate the pavilion's visual identity into motion, ensuring a cohesive language across typography, graphics and pacing. The resulting series balanced documentary storytelling with branded communication, offering visitors an engaging and human-centred introduction to Singapore's literary community.
