Make Believe: Memories of Play

2025

Graduation Project at LASALLEMake Believe! reimagines childhood fantasies—superheroes, adventurers, caretakers—and explores their role in shaping who we are today.

Through playful sculptures and tactile outcomes, the project transforms memories into mechanical upgrades, mythical transformations, and roleplay elements—blurring past and present selves while inviting us to reconnect with the wonder of play.

Scope:
Creative direction
Packaging design
Publication design
Toy design
A collection of stories and experiences of four Narrators, packaged in a toy-like format invoking the sense of childhood curiousity.
An instruction manual accompanies each Hybrid Augmented Self, revealing the design choices (augmentations) and the origin story of its Narrator.
It also serves as an invitation for others to do the same with their own toys.
Glossary of Selves is a publication that overlays the key toys from each era of my life. A reflection of identities, they form a layered portrait of how play shaped who I am—and how those imagined worlds still live with me today.
This year-long project is then documented in my Creative Process Journal. Due to my personal interest with toys, the book takes on that form as well.
